Biohunter

Content Warning: This anime contains some rather graphic violence and a sex scene in the first 5 MINUTES. for this reason alone you should skip it. I'll provide a basic review but this isn't one you should watch. This is from a personal standpoint. And don't try to argue me into watching adult anime either, in my opinion adult anything is filth. The only reason I bother with a review is that the artwork is superb and the storyline is actually intriguing.

There is a virus loose in the world. Just imagine warts that can eat stuff and you'll have a pretty good idea of what this virus does. There is a professor and his friend who run a business that rids people of this virus. Because the virus feeds off of the host body it makes the host ravenously hungry. Later on you come to find that the professors friend is a host to this virus and his control is beginning to slip. The same man who directed Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, and Demon City Shinjuku directed this. The artwork is clean and quite good. It reminds me a bit of Lily CAT. There are graphic scenes of violence throughout. And an almost hentai scene of tentacleness.

Bottom Line..... unless you enjoyed the violence and gratuity in Ninja Scroll skip biohunter. You can do without it. Yes this one bothered me and I wanted to give anyone else who may be offended by this material an oppurtunity to avoid it.

Art/Animation: (8) Very good art, and as typical of the director shading is nice and dark.

Imagery: (2) tentacles are overdone. Some of it is a bit sickening though. This is a subjective score based on the fact that it's laden with ickyness.

Story: (7) The Thing (remake) meets ghostbusters.

Sound/Soundtrack: uhhhh I don't remember so it can't be too bad. But I don't remember so it can't be too good.

Dub: (7) To me it sounded fair. I don't remember cringing.

Drama/Comedy: (7) The main theme was nicely presented and it ended well.

Overall: (62)
